In the past 4+ years at my Amazon job, I had to deal with constant time and performance tracking. I have been threatened with layoffs over this ridiculous performance obsession, and was put against my will in 2 performance improvement plans by my managers. I received no raises in the last 4 years despite my best efforts because I wasn’t “quick enough” on the communication tool and because I didn’t embody “Amazon’s Leadership Principles”.

Still, my managers are always here to “help me”. Since I understood nothing is going to change my situation until I leave the company, I adopted the “they can kiss my a**” attitude and never felt better!
